Amantina Sandoval Sanchez

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Amantina Sandoval Sanchez on Thanksgiving Day, November 28, 2024. Amantina, age 91, was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to many.

Amantina was born on April 19, 1933, in Bernalillo, New Mexico, where she was a lifelong resident. Amantina was a remarkable woman whose love and kindness touched everyone around her. She was a devout Catholic and a faithful servant of the Lord.

Amantina’s life was a testament to her values and beliefs. She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Bonifacio Sanchez, daughters; Marilyn Garcia and husband Anthony of Santa Fe, New Mexico, Carmen Casaus and husband Lorenzo Sr. of Bernalillo, New Mexico, Viola Perea and husband Joe of Bernalillo, New Mexico. Grandchildren, Lorenzo Casaus Jr. and wife Kristina, Alfred Casaus Sr. and wife Melissa, Monique Garcia, and Amantina Rose Perea. Great-grandchildren, Mia Casaus, Angelina Casaus, Alfred Casaus Jr., Celeste Edwards-Garcia, Lorenzo Casaus III, Horatio Ashe, and Tristan Ashe. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her twin sons, Andres and Bonifacio Sanchez Jr. (born and died February 28, 1956). Her parents Andres Sr. and Josefita Sandoval, siblings; Placida Archibeque, Andres Sandoval Jr., Julian Sandoval, and Carmen Gonzales.

Amantina will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched. Her legacy of love, kindness, and patience will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
