Anthony Rudy Gonzales, age 36, beloved son, brother, and uncle, passed away peacefully at his home Thursday, June 14, 2018, while surrounded by his loving family. He was born on June 24, 1981 and was a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, NM. Rudy loved his family and especially taking care of his nieces and nephews; he was very protective of his brothers and sisters, and loved spending quality time with parents, especially fishing and going to the family ranch with his dad. Rudy was a Pittsburgh Steelers fan and enjoyed watching them play. In addition, he continued to love his favorite things, pickles, hot Cheetos, and chile.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Ramon and Albinita Gonzales; and by his maternal grandparents, Ralph and Lola Garcia. Rudy is survived by his loving parents, Ray and Patsy Gonzales; his brother, Ramon Gonzales (Michelle); sisters, Kimberly Gonzales (Robert), Antoinette Gonzales, Leveada Martinez (Jason), Rosemary Vigil (Anthony); his nieces and nephews, Angelica Gonzales, Aurelia Christenson, Monae Gonzales, Alyssa Bustretsky, Brianna Bustresky, Ramon Gonzales, IV, Lilleanna Gonzales, Jade Vigil, Mariah Vigil, Tony Vigil, Diego Rudy Martinez, and Lucas Martinez; his Godmother and best friend, Frieda Apodaca; and other numerous loving relatives and friends. Rudy will be greatly missed by his loving family and by those whose lives he touched.
Visitations will be Tuesday, June 19, 2018 from 7:30 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 9502 Fourth St., NW, where a Rosary will be recited at 8:00 a.m., then followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pall Bearers will be Ramon Gonzales, IV, Damian Lucero, Richard Lucero, David Gonzales, Christian Garcia, and Alec Montoya. Honorary Pall Bearers will be Diego Rudy Martinez, Isaiah Henry, and Joseph Gonzales.
At the family's request, in lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions in Rudy's name may be made to ARCA Opening Doors, 11300 Lomas Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87112 or to Canossian Daughters of Charity Spirituality Center, 5625 Isleta Blvd. SW, Albuquerque, NM 87105.
