Augustine C Quintana

Augustine C. Quintana, age 88, passed away Sunday, May 19, 2024.  He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

 Augustine (Gus) was born on August 28, 1935, in Hurley, NM, to Lugarda Chavez and Basileo Quintana. He met his wife, Argelia, in Albuquerque, where they married, lived, and raised their children. He was employed for 49 years at Immaculate Conception Church and St. Mary's Catholic School. He was known for his hard work and dedication to his position as a maintenance supervisor; he would always respond, no matter the time or task.

 In his free time, Gus enjoyed hunting, fishing, going to the casino, and taking scenic drives with his family or just his wife, Argelia. He was an active member of his community and church. He served as an usher and treasurer at the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church. 

 Gus was a devoted father. He loved spending time with his children, sharing his coin and stamp collections, and watching their favorite TV shows like westerns, boxing, and wrestling. As kids, we would assist him with fixing cars and other projects. He was always there to offer guidance, support, and encouragement.

 Augustine is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Argelia M. Quintana; his children, Yolanda A. Hernandez and husband Ruben; Victor Quintana and wife Carol; Sylvia McGowan and husband Scott; and David A. Quintana. His grandchildren are Joseph Quintana, Krystal Encinias, Joshua Quintana, and Jacob Quintana. As well as Augustine Quintana, Martha Sanchez, and Armando Montoya.
