Aurora Mondragon

Aurora Mondragon, age 86, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully, Saturday, August 11, 2018 while surrounded by her loving family.  She was born in Ranchos de Taos, NM on July 27, 1932 and was a resident of Albuquerque, NM.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Juan de Dios and Ernestina Valerio; and sister Carol V. Caravalho.  Aurora is survived by her husband, John Mondragon; her children, Eileen M. Atencio and husband Leonard, Minerva M. Murphy and husband Ron, Joseph J. Mondragon and wife Gloria; her grandchildren, John I. Atencio and wife LeAnn, Jessica M. Atencio and fiancé Johnny Ray Sedillos, Valerie M. Martinez and husband Marcos, Amber M. Murphy, Steven J. Atencio and fiancée Melissa Sotelo, Tyler J. Murphy, Nicholas J. Mondragon, and Adrian C. Mondragon; great-grandchildren, Jaedyn M. Martinez, Madison R. Atencio, Johnny Ray Sedillos Jr., Leonard J. Atencio, Jaxon J. Martinez, Jason R. Sedillos, Joseph I. Atencio, and Brooklynn V. Martinez; step-great-grandchildren, Makkayla and Matthew Baca.  Also surviving are her siblings, Porfiria V. Gonzales, Sibilina V. Aragon, Felipe A. Valerio, and Corina V. Martinez.  Aurora will be greatly missed by her loving family and by those whose lives she touched.

Visitation will be Wednesday, August 15, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Daniels Family Funeral Services ~ Alameda Mortuary, 9420 Fourth St. NW, Albuquerque, where a Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 9:00 a.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church.  Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Reception will be held thereafter at the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church Parish Hall. Pallbearers will be John I. Atencio, Steven J. Atencio, Tyler J. Murphy, David L. Aragon, Anthony V. Gonzales, and Robert P. Martinez.
