Carmen Baca Chavez

Carmen Baca Chavez, 89 of Bernalillo, NM.

Passed away peacefully on May 23^rd, 2023, surrounded by her loving family and friends She was born to Polo and Tana Baca on July 6^th, 1933.

Carmen was a devoted member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church where she attended Sunday Mass. She also had a great devotion to reciting her daily Rosary, along with enjoying the San Lorenzo fiestas, being a Mayordoma (caretaker) twice in her life.

Carmen’s hobbies included quilt making, crocheting, bingo, and doing word search.

Carmen is survived by her children Ralph & Annette Chavez, Barbara Chavez, Cecelia Chavez, Johnny & Rosemary Chavez, James Baca, her many grandchildren, and great grandchildren, her sister’s Connie Gabaldon, Gladys Lucero, Bernadette Valdez, and many of her nieces, and nephews.

Carmen is preceded in death by her parents Polo & Tana Baca, her children Leonard Chavez, Mel Chavez, Roger Chavez, and Maria Moreno, her sibling’s Leo Baca, Donald Baca, Merlin Lucero, and Theresa Leaton.
