Carmen Lovato, age 91, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully Thursday, August 17, 2017. He was lifelong resident of Cuba, NM, where he was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jose Ignacio and Lauriana Lovato; his first wife, Mary Jane Lovato; and daughter-in-law, Dara Lovato.
Carmen is survived by loving wife of 6 years, Julia Lovato; his children, Ignacio Lovato, Henry Lovato and Vina, Carmen Lovato Jr., and wife Carla, Michael Lovato and wife June, Manuel Lovato and wife Gina, Lila Montoya, Julia Carroll and husband Rick, Virginia Serna and husband Joe, Susan Garcia and husband Ramon, and Adela Chacon and husband Amadeo; step-son, Jose Antonio Garcia; 32 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his brother, Reynaldo Lovato and wife Victoria; sister, Epimenia Lovato; and numerous loving relatives and friends. Carmen will be greatly missed by his loving family and by those whose lives he touched.
Visitation will be Tuesday, August 22, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, in Cuba, NM, where a Rosary will be recited at 10:00 a.m. and followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place at the Cuba Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be James, Lovato, Adrian Lovato, Christopher Lovato, Josh Lovato, Pablo Garcia, Gabriel Chacon and Vincent Lovato. Honorary Bearer will be Jose Antonio Garcia.
