Our beloved mother, Carmen S. Sanchez, 91, born in Grants, NM and a resident of Albuquerque, NM, passed away on Friday, April 30, 2021. Carmen is survived by her daughters Linda Duran and son-in-law Steve Duran and Teresa Sterling: her grandchildren, Steven Duran, Julian Duran, Krystal Armijo and Marissa Sterling; her great grandchildren, Brett Duran, Ryan Duran, Raegan Duran, Donnie Duran Athena Duran, and Collin Armijo. Carmen is preceded in death by her loving husband, Joe L Sanchez; father, Roberto Mares; mother, Soccoro Robledo.
Carmen enjoyed being a homemaker, enjoyed traveling, fishing and camping. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and sewing. Her "kitties'" as she called them were her babies and she loved and enjoyed their companionship. She also loved watching her hummingbirds and caring for her flowers. She will be greatly missed.
Pallbearers are grandsons, Steven Duran, Julian Duran, her nephews, Ricky Sanchez, Edward Sanchez, JR Sandoval, and Herman Martinez. Honorary pallbearers will be her great grandsons, Brett Duran and Collin Armijo.
A viewing will be held on Friday, May 7, 2021 at 11 :00 AM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on 1100 Montano Rd NW. Christian Services will be held right after the viewing at 12:00pm. Burial will take place immediately following services at Sandia Memory Gardens, 9500 San Pedro Dr. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87113 with a luncheon to follow after at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on 1100 Montano Rd NW.
