Cassimiro Apodaca, age 88, beloved and devoted husband, father, and grandfather, was embraced by the Lord Saturday, February 3, 2018 and taken to his heavenly home. He was a lifelong resident of Alameda, NM, and a member of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church. Cassimiro was a proud Veteran of the United States Army who served our country during the Korean Conflict. He was also a member of the American Legion Post #69. He retired from ICX after serving 27 years as a truck driver; and was a member of the ICX Teamsters #492. Cassimiro enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping; and loved his family and friends.
Cassimiro is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Antonia Apodaca; his children, Esther Gurule, Consuelo Lucero and husband Pat, Arlene Apodaca, Annette Montano and husband Robert, Johnny and Bernie Apodaca; ten grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and many other loving relatives and friends. Cassimiro will be greatly missed by his loving family and by those whose lives he touched.
Visitation will be Thursday, February 8, 2018 from 7:30 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 9502 Fourth St. NW, Albuquerque, where a Rosary will be recited at 8:00 a.m. and followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 a.m. Entombment will take place at Vista Verde Memorial Park in Rio Rancho. Casket Bearers will be Johnny Apodaca, Mario Lucero, Robert Montano, James Aldrete, Sean Greatbatch, and Carlos Abetya.
