Cecilia Consuelo "Connie" Montoya, age 75, beloved and devoted mother, grandmother, and sister, was embraced by the Lord and taken to Eternal Life on Thursday, October 1, 2015, while surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Algodones, NM, and was a resident of Bernalillo, where she was member of Our Lady of Sorrows Church, and the Spanish Choir. Connie was a great cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends. Connie will be fondly remembered as a soft spoken woman with a big heart and loving nature.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Santiago and Josefita Aguliar; her husband Seferino "Sefe" Montoya; sisters, Antonia Sanchez, Tomasita Kloeppel, Maria Dominguez, Aneda Aguilar; brothers, Desiderio, Ernie, Ramon, Thomas and Monico Aguilar. Connie is survived by her loving children, Ernestina "Tina" Dominguez, Mariah Montoya and fiancée, Freddy Maes, Vincent "Vince" Montoya and wife Michelle, Santiago Montoya and wife Margaret; her precious grandchildren, Lorenzo Montoya and wife Rosangela, Steven Dominguez and Tammy Lucero, Janice Salazar and husband Josh, Patrick Garcia, Vicente Montoya, Seferino Montoya, Santiago Montoya, and Denika Gallegos; her great-grandchildren, Dominque Dominguez, Steven Dominguez, Shawntae Salazar, Joshua Salazar, Lorenzo Montoya, Andres Montoya, and Mario Montoya. Also surviving are two brothers, Johnny Aguilar and wife Frances, and David Aguilar; and other numerous relatives and a host of friends. Connie will be greatly missed by her loving family and by those whose hearts she touched.
A Rosary to be recited Thursday, October 8, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 301 Camino del Pueblo, Bernalillo, NM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 11:00 a.m. also at the Church. Inurnment will follow at Our Lady of Sorrows Cemetery in Bernalillo. Urn Bearers will be Lorenzo Montoya, Steven Dominguez, Janice Salazar, Patrick Garcia, Vicente Montoya, and Denika Gallegos. Honorary Bearers will be Seferino Montoya, Santiago Montoya, Dominque Dominguez, Steven Dominguez, Shawntae Salazar, Joshua Salazar, Lorenzo Montoya, Andres Montoya, and Mario Montoya.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of Gentiva Hospice, especially to Clerice Carrillo for the loving care and support given to Connie and her family; and to all relatives and friends who were so kind and supportive during this time.
