Consuelo "Connie" Wright

Consuelo G “Connie” Wright, age 79, died Sunday, November 8, 2015 in Albuquerque following a brief illness. Connie was born February 14, 1936 in Santa Fe, NM and was a resident of Santa Fe most of her life. She was a secretary with the public schools until her retirement.  She is best remembered because of her zest for life and her fun-loving spirit. She was considered quite a “character” by all who knew her. Connie possessed an outgoing personality and a sense of humor that made her the life of any party. She had that rare ability to balance being a classy and beautiful lady while still loving the outdoors and doing things like fishing. She was notable for her wonderful baking, cooking, and sewing skills. She enjoyed gardening and always had beautiful flowers growing.

Connie was preceded in death by her husband, George, her mother, Lita Gomez, her son, Edward; and her Tia Nellie.  She is survived by her children; Richard Martinez, Joyce Herman and husband David, Joan Trujillo and husband Nestor, Tony Martinez, Don Martinez; six grandchildren, Miguel Padilla, Janelle Trujillo, Ernest Martinez, Jacqueline Trujillo, Edward Martinez, Jr., and Marissa Martinez. Connie is also survived by her sisters and brother; Gloria Gomez, David Gomez and wife Ruth, Barbara Ruckman.

A Rosary will be recited at 7 pm, Thursday, November 12, 2015 at Daniels Family Funeral Services – Alameda Mortuary.  Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated 2:00 pm Friday, November 13, 2015 at the Cathedral Basilica of St Francis of Assisi, 131 Cathedral Place, Santa Fe, NM 87501. Following the Mass, a Reception to continue the celebration Connie's life will be at the Elk's Lodge #460, 1615 Old Pecos Trail, Santa Fe 87505.  Food/Refreshments may be donated and delivered to the Elk's Lodge prior to the Mass.

Interment will take place on Friday, March 11, 2016 at 12:45 p.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
