Edwina Mora

Edwina A. Mora, age 94, beloved mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully, Sunday, April 9, 2017, while surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Albuquerque, NM, raised in Pena Blanca, NM and was a resident of Bernalillo, NM.  Edwina was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, the Catholic Daughters; and was past president of the Women's VFW Auxiliary in Bernalillo.  Edwina loved being surrounded by her family; and enjoyed spending time with her friends at the Placitas Senior Center.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ramon and Adelina Mares; her husband, Joe F. Mora; two sons, Clyde and Donald Mora; and siblings, Richard Mares, Romeo Mares, and Margaret Mares.

Edwina is survived by loving children, Fred Mora (Pauline), Orlando Mora, Dolores Zalma, Viola Torres (Eddie), Doris Sandoval (Edwin), and Juliet Duran (Ron); daughters-in-law, Rosemary Mora and Carol Mora; 15 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.  Also surviving are her siblings, Ray Mares, Rose Baca, Alice Garcia; sister-in-law, Esther Mares; and numerous loving relatives and friends.  Edwina will be greatly missed by her loving family and by those whose lives she touched.

A Rosary will be recited Monday, April 17, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 301 Camino Del Pueblo, Bernalillo, where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m.  Inurnment will follow at Our Lady of Sorrows Cemetery.
