Eppie A. Encinias, age 79, beloved father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, April 18, 2017, while surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Santa Fe, NM, raised in Villanueva, NM and was a resident of Albuquerque, NM. Eppie was a member of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, where he was a member of the Spanish choir. Eppie was a Automobile mechanic by trade; he also owned and trained quarter race horses. He was a rancher for many years. He was a board member at La Resolana Village Retirement Community and was very involved with the community. Eppie loved to sing, dance and play guitar, he especially loved spending time with his family. Eppie will be fondly remembered as a kind, caring, and quiet man who loved his family dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents Regino and Lilly Encinias.
Eppie is survived by loving children, Debbie Encinias, David Encinias, Vicky Gallegos, and Elizabeth Encinias; mother of his children, Lourdes Encinias; his precious grandchildren, Stephanie Lowery, Isaac Padilla, Sammy Encinias, Anthony Encinias, Mona Encinias, Rachel Encinias, Teddie Gladue, Ramon Gallegos Jr., Zachary Gallegos, Adrienne Gallegos, E.J. Solis, Brittany Solis, and Julie Solis; 20 great-grandchildren; and other loving relatives and a host of friends. Eppie will be greatly missed by his loving family and by those whose lives he touched.
A Rosary will be recited Monday, April 24, 2017 at 8:00 a.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 9520 Fourth St., NW, in Albuquerque, followed by the Service of Christian Burial will be at 9:00 a.m. Pallbearers will be Sam Encinias, Anthony Encinias, Isaac Padilla, EJ Solis, Teddie Gladue, and John Vialpando. Honorary Bearers will be Ramon Gallegos, Jr., and Zachary Gallegos.
