Evelyn C. Torres, age 86, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend went home to be with her Lord, on Saturday, June 17, 2017. She was born on March 29, 1931 in Albuquerque, NM.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents Dan and Selfita Carter, her brother Roland and her sons, Mannie, Eddie and Steve. She is survived by her loving husband of 68 years Manuel Torres, her son, Michael Torres; her daughters, Margaret Sanchez (Alex) and Stella Archibeque (Marvin); grandchildren Alex Sanchez Jr., April Muller (Juan), Kristal LeDoux (Kevin), Alvida Archibeque (Ronnie); great grandchildren Xavier, Shyana, Stevie, Gabrielle, Trysten; sister-in-law, Isabel Carter; and her special cousin Helen Gonzalez (Joe).
Evelyn was a devoted and loving wife. She cherished her children and treasured her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved her family and her warm and inviting home was open to family and friends for holidays, birthdays, special occasions and impromptu dinners where all enjoyed her company and fabulous homemade food. She was also a Lakers Fan and surprised all with her knowledge of the game. Evelyn was so loved and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Private Services were held. The family would like to thank Alliance Healthcare and give our heartfelt gratitude to their Hospice Palliative Care Team for their kind and devoted care. We would also like to thank the Skies Healthcare Facility.
