Frank McVey White
October 19th, 1939 - April 25th, 2020

After completing a full and rich life of love, joy, service, and generosity, Frank McVey White, age 80, passed in comfort and peace, surrounded by a loving and grateful family, on Saturday, April 25th.

Frank was born in Middlesboro, Kentucky to Hubert White and Virginia Fay Cawood.  His heart never forgot the foundational family love he was given by his own parents, a wholehearted love he gave forward so authentically to his own children and grandchildren.

Frank spent most of his adult life in Lexington, Kentucky where, due to his irrepressible work ethic, he built an impressive career in commercial real estate.  He was highly successful on professional and personal levels for the same reasons; he was kind, calm, honest, smart, strong, and patient. His character was impeccable; his integrity beyond reproach. The values he embodied as a talented college baseball and basketball player - discipline, leadership, and a never-quit attitude - were intrinsically present in every commitment he made, and yet, he never missed those balancing moments to be lighthearted and incredibly fun. All who encountered Frank were naturally drawn to his uplifting spirit, his soft but striking blue eyes, and his heartwarming smile. He saw the light in everyone and tried his best to make sure each person could see their own light within as well.

Frank loved spending time with his wife of 40 years, Pat Allen, traveling, golfing, going to horse races, attending University of Kentucky sporting events, and enjoying their daughter Tabatha, and grandsons in Lexington.  He also remained lovingly connected to his daughter Julia Zuniga of Denver, Colorado and his daughter Susanna Suddarth and her family of Albuquerque, New Mexico where he made one last stop for family love and care before the final return to his resting place in Middlesboro, near his own original Kentucky home.

Frank was a member of Christ Church Cathedral of Lexington, KY, and lived anchored by his faith. He felt immensely blessed to have family he adored, and friends he cherished. He kept us all in his huge heart until the very end, but we all know we were the lucky ones - fortunate beyond measure to have known, loved, learned from, and leaned on this shining example of a man.

Frank is survived by his wife, Pat Allen, daughters Tabatha Allen (Ronnie) , Julia Zuniga, Susanna Suddarth (Kevin), eight grandchildren, and sixteen great-grandchildren. Burial will occur at a later date at Middlesboro Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Christ Church Cathedral, the Alzheimer’s Association, or a charitable contribution of your choice in the name of Frank McVey White and the love he exemplified.
