Gilbert Baca

Gilbert Baca, age 88, beloved husband, father, and grandfather passed away peacefully, Tuesday, October 9, 2018.  He was born in Optimo, NM and was a resident of Alameda, NM. Gilbert was a United States Air Force Veteran, who served our country during the Korean War.  He was a member of the American Legion Post #69 and of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cristoval C de Baca and Herminia Castillo; son, Pernall Baca; and siblings, Edith Mathes, Jean Ditton, Viola Tena, and Rose Nieto.  Gilbert is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Sistie Baca; his children, Eric Baca and wife Alicia, and Yvette Baca-Andujo; 5 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren; and other loving relatives and friends.  Gilbert will be greatly missed by his loving family and by those whose lives he touched.

Visitation will be Friday, October 12, 2018 from 7:30 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 9502 4th St., NW, Albuquerque, where a Rosary will be recited at 8:00 a.m. then followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 a.m. Interment will take place at Sandia Memory Gardens, 9500 San Pedro Blvd. NE.  Serving as Casket Bearers will be Javier Baca, Brian Butler, Arturo Andujo, JD Maldonado, and Daniel Andujo.
