It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Jacob Leon Platero, who left us too soon on August 30, 2024, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Born on March 31, 2001, in Albuquerque, Jacob was a bright light in the lives of all who knew him.
A graduate Tse'Yi'Gai High School, Jacob possessed an unyielding spirit and an infectious enthusiasm for. He dedicated his to working at Pizza and Jay's Window, where he brought passion for helping others into each task he undertook. His willingness to lend a hand was only matched by his love for his family, particularly his parents, Myron Kenneth Platero and Carol Upshaw Platero.
Jacob had a myriad of interests that painted the canvas of his youthful life. He found joy in watching movies, hunting, riding bikes, and playing sports. He also took great pride in cutting and hauling firewood, listening to music, walking, and lifting weights. These hobbies were not merely activities for him; they were a way to connect with the world around him and share moments of joy with family and friends.
Beyond his hobbies, Jacob's personality shone brightest in the love he had for his dogs. His gentle spirit and caring nature touched every corner of his life, making him a cherished member of his community. There was nothing he loved more than helping his parents, showcasing a deep-rooted sense of loyalty and compassion that defined his character.
Jacob's final resting place will be at Torreon Mission Cemetery in Cuba, New Mexico, where family and friends will gather for a graveside service on September 21, 2024, starting at 11:00 AM. This will be a time for reflection and remembrance, as we honor the incredible young man he was and the vibrant spirit he shared with those around him.
Though he is no longer with us, Jacob Leon Platero will forever remain in our hearts, a symbol of love, kindness, and adventure. He leaves behind a legacy of laughter and warmth that will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know him.
