Jacobo Duran

Jacobo "Rudy" Duran, age 78, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, went to his heavenly home to be with his son, Raymond, on Tuesday, May 17, 2016.  He was a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, NM, where he was a member of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church.  Rudy enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, traveling, and especially spending time with his family. Rudy will be fondly remembered by his sense of humor.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jake and Lala Duran; his son Raymond Duran; two grandchildren, Samantha Chavez and Michael Garcia;two great-grandchildren, Rosalinda and Xachary; and his brother, Fred.

Rudy is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Elsie Duran; his daughters, Rebecca (Juan) Olguin, Rachael (Joe) Abeyta, Roberta (Larry) Muro, Rosella (Joe) Martinez, Mary Duran, Regina (Blake) Garcia, Rosemary (Sean) Gover, and Ruby (Gilbert) Sisneros; 20 grandchildren, Carmella and Vince, John and Tori, Cassie and Chris, Melanie and Kris, Jocelyn and Stephen, Chris and Amanda, Katerri and Josh, Andrew and Heather, Thomas and Justin, Nick, David, Karah, Felecia, Christina, Liz, and Aaron, Victoria, Noah, Zach, Allen Michael, Amanda and Matthew; 25 great-grandchildrn, Marcus, Bella, Karah, Ivy, Alex, Abbey, Salma, Xavier, LuzElena, Maria, Malakai, Halo, Aria, Adrian, Elijah, GennaMarie, Luciano, Thomas, Jeremyah, Shaylynn, Raymond, Anthony, Avery, Aidan, and Lili; his niece, Michelle, and many others who called him Uncle, Pompa, and Nino.  Rudy will be greatly missed by his loving family and by those whose lives he touched.

Visitations will be Sunday, May 22, 2016 from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 9502 Fourth St., NW, followed by a Rosary at 4:00 p.m.  Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday at 9:00 a.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church.  Interment will follow at Sandia Memory Gardens.  Casket Bearers will be John Olguin, Christopher Abeyta, Andrew Muro, Thomas Martinez, Nicholas Martinez, David Martinez, ,Noah Garcia, and Matthew Sisneros.
