Jim was a humble, kind soul who would share his sincere playful joy by giving an open-mouthed smile and a quick heartfelt chuckle.
He possessed an intelligence, wit, and humor that he would use with precision in any situation that required it.
He enjoyed visiting with people, a good meal and a good story, a few naps a day, drawing and painting, and the longest, most boring history books you could fathom. (Often written in English, but sometimes in Spanish or German, and occasional Latin text).
Throughout his life as a husband, father, and his 30 + year career as a dedicated educator he influenced generations of souls with his steadfast honesty of action, intuitive ability to observe, and his care.
Jim cared for each and every one of us, his students, friends, and family.
Jim offers us a glimpse of a path through life that demonstrates “doing the best you can with what you’ve got”, without complaining or being angry along the way.
He had strength and patience to give to anyone who asked.
Some of Jim’s strength is in each of us now.
Quiet. Kind. Steadfast. Accepting. Loving.
There to help us when we need it, with a warm smile, and twinkling eyes.
Jim is survived by his sister Darby Morrell and children JB, Mike, and McKenzie. His brother and dear friend Steve Brown. His children Tim & Heather, Jeddah & Brian, David & Tracey , Katie & Austin, and Charles. His grandchildren Tyler, Makayla, Wesley, Ruben, and Ginger
Jim is preceded in death by his parents Charles Eugene Carrell & Cecily Dealy, and brother John Carrell.
He is reunited with his Spouse Jana Lee Bartschi & cherished generations of pets.
