Janette Velasquez

Janette P. Velasquez “Grandma Jan”, 77, passed away on April 3, 2015. Mrs. Velasquez is the beloved wife to Mr. Jose Velasquez, married 55 years. Janette is also survived by her daughter, Jeaninne Ortiz and husband, Johnny; son, Jeffrey Velasquez and wife Larissa; one sister, Wanda Stockton; Five grandchildren, Jose Velasquez III and girlfriend Yvette; Jeremy and fiancé Celeste, Julianna, Erik, and Adrian; Three great-grandchildren, Earl, Savannah and Hope; a special angel, Antoinette Vallejos and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A Rosary will be recited on Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. by Georgianna Wheeler and a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. by Father Vincent Chavez at St. Therese Church located at 3424 Fourth Street NW. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jose Velasquez III, Jeremy Ortiz, Erik Velasquez, Adrian Velasquez, Lenny Stockton and Tomas Garcia. Honorary Pallbearers will be Eloy Sandoval, Carmen Rodriquez, Edward Strader, Todd Stockton, Charles Sandoval, Don Wheeler and Raymond Mora. In lieu of flowers, please donate to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
