John Rudy Valdez

John Rudy Valdez, age 83, beloved father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, passed away Saturday, July 15, 2017.  He was born in Las Cruces, NM and was a resident of Albuquerque, NM.  John enjoyed getting together with his family and friends and telling old stories.  He will be fondly remembered for his contagious laughter and his smile.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John E. and Enriqueta Valdez; and a son, Mark Steven Valdez:

John is survived by children, John Michael, Dominic Valdez, Jerry and Victoria McGarry and husband Chuck, Carmela Hernandez and husband Juan; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.  Also surviving are, daughter-in-law, Florence Gonzales Valdez; uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, the Medina, Valdez, Telles, Zamarripa and Rivera families and many more.  John will be greatly missed by his loving family and by those whose lives he touched.

Family and friends will gather Wednesday, July 26, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church, 5712 Paradise Blvd., NW in Albuquerque, followed by a Rosary at 9:30 a.m. and Mass at 10:00 a.m.   "He will be buried at a later date, so I can spend more time with him and you are all welcome to come by."

A Celebration of his Life will take place on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Tiny's Restaurant & Lounge, 1005 St. Francis Drive, Santa Fe, NM 87505 (Southwest corner of Cerrillos Rd. and St. Francis Dr.).  The burial of his Cremated Remains will take place at a later date.
