Julia M. Marquez, 72, beloved mother, wife, daughter, sister, grandmother, and friend was called to her eternal resting place on Sunday, Jun 12, 2022. She was born on May 4,1950 to her parents Joe and Theresa Valdez in Bernalillo, NM.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Eddie R. Marquez, her son Joe Victor Chavez, her daughter Loretta Marquez, her brother Raymond Valdez, and her brother Orlando Valdez. She is survived by her loving family, daughter Katherine Cortez and husband Fred, son Lawrence Chavez and wife Victoria, son Steve Marquez, sister Emma Torres and husband Randy, sisters-in-law Grace, Rosemary, and Darlene, partner Fred Casias and family. Her 10 grandchildren were her pride and joy, Cory, Steven and wife Phanael, Desirae, Jeremy, Angel and husband James, Alicia, AJ, Natasha, Cheyenne, and Jackie. She is also survived by her beloved great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, and godchildren.
Julia retired from Sandoval County, where she worked in the Senior Program in many roles. She enjoyed playing bingo, cooking and baking for, and with, her family, spending time with her children and grandchildren and attending concerts. Julia was well known for her specialty dishes. She was very devout to her Catholic faith and one of her favorite traditions was making biscochitos and natillas for the Fiesta’s De San Lorenzo every year.
Julia was caring and loving. She left an impact on every person who was lucky enough to meet her. She will be tremendously missed by all who knew her.
