June D. (Gallegos) Tafoya, born June 20, 1948, passed away on May 24, 2021. She was preceded in death by her parents, Higinio and Emma Gallegos, her siblings, Mary Ann (Gallegos) Duffy, James Gallegos, and numerous loved ones who welcomed her with loving arms into Heaven.
June is survived by her loving husband, Isaac, to whom she was married to for 53 years, her sisters, Stella Vallejos (late husband Bartolo), Virginia Gallegos, Patricia Sanchez and husband Bill, brothers Arthur Gallegos, Angelo Gallegos and wife Beatrice, Manuel Gallegos and wife Dianna, her Aunt Priscilla Duran and Uncle Joe Gallegos, and the Tafoya family, Arthur (Archie) Tafoya, Jeanie Dilliner, Glenda Tafoya, Jose Tafoya, Jr., and many other loving relatives
June worked in the medical field for almost 50 years. Her career began as a nursing assistant. She worked hard and persevered. She attended the University of Albuquerque and graduated with her nursing degree. June retired as an orthopedic nurse. She loved being a nurse. June was a loving and dedicated caregiver, beginning with her paternal grandparents, who she grew up with, to her parents and most recently to her husband. Whenever someone was sick, June was called upon to interpret medical terms. She always took the time to provide comfort and reassurance.
June was an avid gardener, tending to her beautiful house plants, as well as her garden and flowers. When Isaac and June moved into their dream house, they planted numerous fruit trees. Their beautiful trees produced an abundance of fruit throughout the years, and she shared the fruit with so much joy. She loved all creatures, especially her four-legged fur babies, Buddy, Angel, Daisy, Oro, and Peaches. Her love for animals included birds. June fed so many with her unique birdfeeders.
June will always be remembered as a loving, kind, and gentle soul. She always looked for the best in everyone. June touched so many lives and was loved and respected by all.
Pallbearers will be Nick Mendoza (Godson), Isaac Gallegos (Godson), Jose Tafoya Jr., Daniel Tafoya, Dennis Gallegos, and Martin Gallegos.
