Lee Stober, an exceptional individual with a kind heart and a generous spirit, has sadly passed away at the age of 77. Lee was born on February 20th, 1946 in Gregory, SD to his beloved parents Evelyn and Allen Stober. Throughout his life, Lee's warm personality touched the lives of many, leaving an indelible mark on all those who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Lee dedicated much of his career to serving the State of New Mexico. His commitment and hard work were evident in every project he took on during his time there. His passion for public service was unwavering, and he always strived to make a positive difference in the lives of others.
Education played a significant role in Lee's life. He graduated from Winner High School in Winner, SD in 1964 before pursuing further studies at Northern University in Aberdeen, SD, where he completed his degree in 1968. Lee cherished knowledge and saw education as a means to broaden his horizons and better understand the world around him.
One of Lee's most remarkable qualities was his caring nature. He consistently put others before himself and went out of his way to lend a helping hand whenever it was needed. His family and friends could always count on him for support and guidance in both good times and bad.
Outside of his professional pursuits, Lee found immense joy in spending quality time with loved ones. One particular source of happiness was working alongside his son Michael as they restored vehicles together. The father-son bond they shared was truly special and made their shared hobby all the more meaningful.
On July 17th, 2023, Lee peacefully passed away at the UNM Hospital in Albuquerque, NM. While this is undoubtedly a somber moment for those who held him dear, it is important to remember the incredible legacy he leaves behind.
Lee is survived by his adoring son Michael and daughter-in-law Leeann Stober, who will forever carry memories of his love and guidance in their hearts. His brother Dale and sister-in-law Jane Stober, as well as his sister Connie Jelinek, mourn the loss of a dear brother but find comfort in the cherished moments they shared throughout their lives. In addition to his immediate family, Lee leaves behind three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, each of whom will carry forward his love and values.
In honoring the life of Lee Stober, we celebrate a remarkable individual whose legacy will continue to inspire kindness, compassion, and dedication. His memory will forever remain in our hearts as a symbol of love and selflessness. May he rest in eternal peace.
