Leonard Olivas

Leonard E. Olivas, age 81, beloved father, grandfather, and brother, was embraced by the Lord and taken to Eternal Life, Thursday, April 20, 2017. He was a lifelong resident of Cuba, NM.  Leonard was a kind and quiet man, who enjoyed fishing, traveling, and working on his ranch.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fidencio and Genoveva Olivas; son, Sammy Olivas; and five siblings.  Leonard is survived by his loving children, Chavela Olivas-Carabajal and husband Isaac, Monica and Brenda Olivas, William Olivas and wife Nikki, and Angela Olivas-Arellano and husband Tomas; the mother of his children, Emily Padilla; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.  Also surviving are his siblings, Ray (Connie) Olivas, Sam (Mary) Olivas, Gabriela Adams; and many other loving relatives and friends. Leonard will be greatly missed by his loving family and by those whose lives he touched.

A Rosary will be recited Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Church, Cuba, NM.   Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 11:00 a.m. also at the Church.  Interment will follow at the Cuba Catholic Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be William Olivas, Martin Olivas, Fabian Olivas, James Casuas, Patrick Olivas, and Albert Olivas.  Honorary Bearers will be Marcos Olivas, Estevan Baca, Manuel Diaz, and Ben Olivas.
