Luis G Martinez Sr.

With great sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved (Poppy) father, husband, and brother Luis G Martinez Sr. 92 years old. On the evening of August 27, 2024, he passed peacefully in his home in the company of his wife. Luis was born in Taos, New Mexico to his parents the late Gullermo and Marina Martinez. 

 Luis was the oldest of 13, 7 brothers and 5 Sisters, and is preceded in death by his siblings, Eusebio Martinez and Alice Martinez. Moved to Albuquerque in 1966 and worked for the City of Albuquerque for 25 years. Luis is survived by his dedicated wife of 74 years Piedad Martinez, daughter Lauren Griego, son Luis Martinez Jr. (wife Lorraine), and daughter Geraldine (Geri) Martinez. Grandchildren, Aaron Hiner (wife Angie), Kristy Mondragon (husband Mark), Naomi Wasson (husband Mathew), Matthew Martinez (wife Christine), Samantha Pohl (husband Michael Aguirre), Zachary Pohl (husband Tim): and 12 great-grandchildren. 

Luis loved traveling, playing music, and telling stories. He loved making us laugh with his stories. We are all going to miss his beautiful smile....
