Monique Montano

Monique M. Montano, age 31, beloved mother, daughter, and sister, received her heavenly wings on Friday, May 12, 2017.   She was born on  May 19, 1985 in Albuquerque, NM.  Monique worked in the bar industry as a bartender in the local community.   She was beautiful inside and out. She loved giving to the homeless and helping those in need.  Monique enjoyed fishing, snowboarding, shopping, cosmetics, and seafood; but above all she loved spending time with her precious children.

Monique is survived by her children, Elijah Ray and Gia Jade Acoya; her loving parents, Charles M. Montano and Margaret M. Montano; sisters, Angelina M. Montano, Ruthann M. Madrid, and Janiene Saavedra.  Also surviving are the father of her children, Victor Acoya; her fiancé, Tyson Putman; niece, Antoinette Duran; and numerous loving family, extended relatives, and friends.  Monique will be greatly missed by her loving family and by those whose lives she touched.

Monique had thousands of followers on social media and they followed her journey! We would like to thank all the Cancer survivors for their support.

A Rosary will be recited Saturday, May 20, 2017 at 8:15 a.m. at The Shrine of St. Bernadette's, 11509 Indian School Road, Albuquerque, NM 87112, where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m.  Inurnment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
