Beloved mother and grandmother, Nellie Sandoval, aged 90, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 7th 2024 at Rust Medical Center in Rio Rancho, NM. She was born on July 7th, 1933 at home in Whitehorse Lake, NM to Kee and Juanita Sandoval. She attended Intermountain Indian School in Brigham City, Utah. She never married. She volunteered most of her time at Na' Neelzhiin Ji Olta', in Torreon, New Mexico, as a foster grandparent. Nellie was also a homemaker, she raised three of her grandchildren like they were her own. Nellie was a kind and compassionate person towards everyone she met. You could find her driving around Torreon, attending church, or eating at the senior center. She spent the last year at Skies Genesis, putting together puzzles and attending church there. She is survived by her brother Jimmy Sandoval, her sons Benjamin Toledo Sr. and Lorenzo Toledo as well as fourteen grandchildren and twenty three great grandchildren. Family and friends who whose lives were touched by Nellie are invited to attend the graveside service at Torreon Mission Church.
