Nellie Vandever

Nellie Vandever, age 80, beloved mother, grandmother and sister,  passed away Friday, November 8, 2019.  She received her masters from the Baylor Methodist collage in Dallas, TX and was a Registered Nurse who worked at the Baylor Methodist Hospital.  Nellie also worked at the uranium mines in Grants, NM, then retired to become a silversmith.  Some of Nellie's interests and hobbies include designing and creating jewelry, bowling, going to the casino, picking piñon, and going out with family for a good meal.

Nellie is survived by son, David Garcia; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; her sister, Lillian Garcia; and many other relatives and friends.  Nellie will be greatly missed by her loving family and by those whose lives she touched.

Funeral Services will be conducted Monday, November 18, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at the Fist Baptist Church in Thoreau, NM.  Interment to follow at the Grants Cemetery.
