Onecima "Emma" Casaus, age 95, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, joined her husband, parents, and two of her siblings in heaven on Saturday, May 5, 2018. She was born on June 15, 1922 and raised in Cuba, NM. Emma will be lovingly remembered for her gardening, quilting and always offering a cup of coffee and something to eat. Emma was a devoted Catholic and was rarely seen without her Rosary in her hand. Emma is an enormous loss for our family, but a tremendous gain for heaven.
Emma is survived by a sister, Isabel Roche; her loving children, Pete and Florence; four grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank all those who helped with Emma's care.
A Rosary will be recited Friday, May 11, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 301 Camino de Pueblo, Bernalillo, NM, where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Sandia Memory Gardens in Albuquerque. Casket Bearers will be Edward Roche, Francisco Gonzales, Tim Burnham, Joshua Coleman, Joseph Galindo, and Adam Toledo.
