Pamela R. Kovash, (62) passed away suddenly September 6, 2016 from a Pulmonary embolism.
Pamela was born May 14, 1954 in Dickinson, ND to parents, Victor and Irene Kovash. She is survived by her mother, Irene Kovash (Billings, MT); sister, Cheryl Kovash (La Quinta, CA); brother, Bryan Kovash and wife, Polly (Billings, MT); brother, Dale Kovash and wife, Gail (Meridian, ID); and brother, Bruce Kovash and wife, Christi (Boise, ID); several nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. She is preceded in death by her father, Victor Kovash and her grandparents.
Pam was born with spina bifida which resulted in several medical conditions throughout her 62 years. Through all the ups and downs, Pam never gave up. She was very persistent and determined not to allow her handicaps and disabilities slow her down. She graduated from the Montana School for the Deaf and Blind in Great Falls, MT in 1973. She then attended Gallaudet College in Washington, DC and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in 1978. After college she returned to Great Falls to work with the IRS for a brief period until she was hired by the National Forest Service. She worked with the Forest Service in areas such as Helena, MT, San Diego, CA, Placerville, CA and then Albuquerque, NM. Pam retired from the Forest Service after 34 years of service in 2012. On August 3, 2016 Pam received a living kidney donation from her sister. The transplant was a success but she then developed another condition leading to her recent death.
Pam enjoyed socializing with her friends, sewing, arts and crafts, cooking, gardening, and spending time with her family. She was also very active with the Deaf Senior Citizens of Albuquerque and the Deaf Cultural Center of New Mexico. She will be in our hearts forever. The Lord be with you Pamela.
