Richard Martinez

Richard A. Martinez, age 71, passed away peacefully from this world into paradise on Tuesday, May 23, 2017, surrounded by his loving family and Deacon Burns. He was a lifelong resident of Corrales, NM, a true "Corralenio". Richard worked the family apple orchard since the age of seven; then became the owner and operator of RM and Son Trucking. He worked as a machinist for over 24 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jose R. and Rosemary Martinez; sister, Theresa Ann; and a niece, Annabelle Benavidez. Richard is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Patricia Martinez; his children, William a. Martinez and April Rose Lyn Edwards and husband Anthony; and his precious granddaughter, Lilly M. Gallegos and husband Greg. Also surviving are his brother, Ralph Martinez and wife Erlinda; his sister, Mayta Morris and husband Mike; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Richard will be greatly missed by his loving family and by those whose lives he touched.
Visitation will be Saturday, May 27, 2017 from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. at San Ysidro Catholic Church, 5015 Corrales Rd., in Corrales,NM, where a Rosary will be recited at 9:00 a.m. then a eulogy, and followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be at the San Ysidro Cemetery, in Corrales, NM. Pall Bearers will be Johnny Martinez, Rudy John Garcia, Matthew Garcia, Keith Orwat, Steve Turner, and Joe Dosch.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that Memorial contributions be made to the St. Vincent De Paul Society, c/o San Ysidro Catholic Church.
