Rogeria Olivas

Rogeria U. Olivas, age 78, beloved sister, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 5, 2021, while surrounded by her loving family.  She was born in La Jara NM.  Rogeria was active in her community and was an active member of Immaculate Conception Church and Los Guadalupanos/Guadalupanas.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fidencio Olivas; parents, Trivinio and Paulita Gutierrez; son Victor Olivas; and two sisters, Leonila (Cathy), Rafelita; and one great-granddaughter, D’Anna Rodriguez

Rogeria is survived by her children, Lucinda White (Terry), Christina Sprague-Evans (Dan), Carolyn Marquez (Manuel), Rick Olivas (Ruth), Larry Olivas, Sally Powell (Lorenzo), Valentina Akamine, Gina Powell (Tony), Jerry Johnson (Mary), Veronica Olivas, and Martin Olivas (Shannon); 37 grandchildren; and 32 great-grandchildren.  Also surviving are her siblings, Ramon Gutierrez (Lanette), Irene Estrada, Olivia Arredondo, Felix Gutierrez (Julia), Florentino Gutierrez (Wanda), and Sosteno Gutierrez (Bridgette).

Visitation will be Tuesday, August 10, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Church in Cuba, NM, where a Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church. Interment will follow at the Cuba Catholic Cemetery.  Casket Bearers will be Ramon Gutierrez, Florentino Gutierrez, Felix Gutierrez, Sosteno Gutierrez, Salvador Powell, Francisco Valles, and Jason Olivas.
