Socorro Mejia

Socorro Mejia, age 96, passed away Saturday, September 29, 2018. He was born in Clovis, New Mexico, on June 22, 1922, to Castullo Mejia and Enriqueta Carrera.  Socorro was known to be a "Jack of All Trades".  He was an excellent carpenter and was always willing to help anyone.  He took great pride in maintaining the cleanest yard in Ponderosa.

He was preceded in death by his wife Lucy Mejia; his parents, and three sisters.

Socorro is survived by stepchildren, Jack Martinez (Irene), Phil Martinez, Louie Martinez (Maureen), Peggy Crespin (Mike); nieces, Margaret Mounger (Larry), Lupe Soto, Marcella Brown (Gary); nephews, Jerry Hernandez (Rose), Alex Valdez (Dollie) and Antonio Valdez (Sarita).

Pallbearers bill be Jeffrey Hernandez, Carlos Soto, Eddie Martinez, Eddie Pohl, Adrian Chavez, and Sebastian Soto.

Visitation will be held  9:00 - 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 9, 2018, at Daniels Family Funeral Services - Alameda Mortuary, 9420 4th St. NW, with recitation of Rosary at 10:00 a.m., followed by Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m.  Interment to follow at Vista Verde Cemetery.
