Stella Lucero

Stella L. Lucero, age 72, beloved and devoted mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully,  Tuesday, October 2, 2018.  She was a lifelong resident of Bernalillo, NM, where she worked 22 years at Bernalillo High School and was a volunteer as a cook at Our Lady of Sorrows Church for St. Anthony's Kitchen.  Stella enjoyed cooking, reading, music, watching television, and especially spending time with her grandson, Arthur.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfredo and Mary Torres; her husband, Edward Lucero; and siblings, Liz Mendoza, Rudy Lucero, and Johnny Torres.  Stella is survived by her loving children, Yvonne Lucero-Edwards and husband Gary, and Kenny R. Lucero; her grandchildren, Arthur K. Lucero, Felisha Lucero; great-grandchildren, Arthur Jr., Savannah, Christina, Jacob, and Myah.  Also surviving are two brothers, Alfred and Billy Torres; and many other loving relatives and friends.  Stella will be greatly missed by her family and by those whose lives she touched.

A Rosary will be recited Friday, October 12, 2018 at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 301 Camino del Pueblo, Bernalillo, NM, where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m.  Inurnment will follow at Our Lady of Sorrows Cemetery.
