Theresa Benavidez

Theresa M. Benavidez, age 78, beloved mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend, was embraced by the Lord Wednesday, December 27, 2017 and taken to her heavenly home.  She was a lifelong resident of Albuquerque where Theresa was an active member of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church 7:30 a.m. choir; and Sisters of Charity.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Desiderio P. and Bernadette Gurule; her husband, Robert Leroy Benavidez, Sr; sisters, Ella and Della Gallegos; and nephew, Robert Julian Gallegos.

Theresa is survived by her loving children, Michele Lee Benavidez and husband Rick Gallegos, Robert L. Benavidez, Jr.; her precious grandchildren, Valarie, Joshua Benavidez, Emiliano Gomez, and Vanessa Gallegos.  Also surviving are several nieces, nephews; best friend Jane Morelos; her friends from The Breakfast Club, Golden Girls, and The 58 Class.  Theresa will be greatly missed by her loving family and by those whose lives she touched.

A Rosary will be recited Thursday, January 4, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Daniels Family Funeral Services - Alameda Mortuary, 9420 Fourth St. NW, Albuquerque.  A Reception will follow the Rosary at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish Hall.   Mass will be celebrated Friday, January 5, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church.   Interment will take place at 1:30 p.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
