Tonya Marie Sanchez, born on October 27, 1979, in Ogden, Utah, passed away on February 19, 2024, in Cuba, New Mexico. She was a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend to many.
Tonya dedicated seven years of her life working at Presbyterian Medical Services in Cuba, New Mexico. Starting as a CAR and eventually becoming the administrator was one of her proudest accomplishments. Her commitment and hard work were evident in everything she did.
She graduated from Ben Lomand High School in 1998 and went on to touch the lives of many through her work and her loving nature. Tonya was described as caring, outgoing, and family-oriented. She had a passion for helping others and always put her family first.
In her free time, Tonya indulged in various hobbies and interests. From attending concerts to spending quality time with her children and family, she found joy in the simple things. Especially spending time at the Ranch with her husband William. Her love for playing Bingo and going to the casino, watching Romance movies, hiking, shed hunting, cooking, traveling, enjoying wine, and visiting her grandma Sepulveda showcased her vibrant spirit and zest for life.
Tonya will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She leaves behind her husband William Maestas; children Oakley Putnam, Orion Putnam, Osiris Putnam, and Oceanus Putnam (Jeremiah Sandoval); mother Anna and (Rick Romero); brothers Mario (Jeanene Sanchez), Marcus (Tiffany Sanchez), sister Melisa Medina; and grandmother Maria Ana Sepulveda.
She is reunited in heaven with her father Morris J Sanchez and grandparents Moises and Mary Sanchez, Rafael Sepulveda, and Maria Mota. Tonya's kindness and warmth will forever be cherished by her surviving family members and friends during this difficult time of loss.

Tonya's legacy of love and compassion will live on through the memories shared with those whose lives she touched profoundly. May she rest in eternal peace.
