Abel Gurule Jr.

Gurule, Abel Jr, 81, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Thursday, September 30, 2021.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Petronelia and Abel Gurule, Sr.; grandson Michael Sanchez; and sister Annie Ortega. Abel is survived by his wife of 58 years, Senaida Gurule of Albuquerque, NM; daughter Debbie Sanchez (husband Kenny); son Norman Gurule; Julie Romero (husband Angelo); grandson Jesse Sanchez (wife Samantha), great grandson’s Jude and Jacob Sanchez; brother Alfred Gurule; god-daughter’s Darlene Gamino and Barbara Cox; god-son James Ortega and many nieces and nephews.

Abel was known to all as “Pops”. A nickname that his grandson Michael gave him. He was also known for always being a sharp dressed man. You never saw him without his polished boots, shiny belt buckle and buttoned up shirt. He took daily walks with his little sidekick Molly and made many friends along the way. He loved the outdoors and was always ready to go fishing and hunting.
